The island of Aix is the only real « island » in Charente Maritime as the others, Ré and Oléron, renounced their insularity. It is also the island the furthest south of the islands of Ponant.
The island of Aix is like a large garden with hollyhock scattered here and there. On this tiny island, nature rules. No cars are permitted on the island so you can explore on foot, by bike or in a carriage!
